Every Finespun cake is designed around the people getting married, the florals on the table, the texture of the dress, the season, the room. Nothing is pulled from a template, and nothing leaves the studio that hasn’t earned its place on the table.

It’s what we’re known for. Finespun’s hand-shaped sugar flowers are crafted petal by petal in the studio, then dusted and assembled to match the florals on your tablescape, sometimes so closely that guests have to lean in and look twice.
A peony can take an entire day. A magnolia, longer. It’s not the fast way to make a cake. It’s the only way to make one that looks like ours.

You send your inquiry
Fill out the inquiry form below with your date, venue, guest count, and any inspiration. We’ll respond within two business days to confirm we can take your wedding.

We meet for a tasting
A private tasting at the Bathurst Street studio, by appointment. Sample cakes, fillings, and buttercreams, and walk us through your vision in detail.

You receive a proposal
A bespoke sketch, flavor selection, and full quote, designed specifically for your wedding. We refine it together until it’s exactly right.
04
You secure the date
A signed agreement and deposit reserve your wedding on the calendar. From here, you can stop thinking about the cake. We’ve got it.
05
We craft and deliver
Your cake is baked, built, and decorated in the days before your wedding, then personally delivered and finished on site by Alexandria.

Common Questions
The things couples ask before booking.
Most couples book six to twelve months ahead, and peak wedding dates (May through October) can fill a year in advance. If your date is close, send an inquiry, sometimes we have availability, and it’s worth asking.
Tastings aren’t required but are warmly recommended, especially for our Signature and Showpiece couples. They’re held privately at the studio in Toronto and are the best way to design a cake that’s truly yours.
Yes, for select destinations. Travel and on-site assembly are quoted separately. Reach out with your venue details and we’ll let you know if we can make it work.
We can accommodate most dietary needs, including gluten-free and dairy-free tiers. Note that our studio is not nut-free or allergen-free; if you have severe allergies among guests, let us know early and we’ll discuss options.
They do. Kept in a dry, cool spot away from direct sunlight, sugar flowers can last years. Many of our couples preserve theirs in a keepsake box as a memento of the day.
A non-refundable retainer of fifty percent of the total holds your date on our calendar. The balance is due thirty days before your wedding.
Design refinements are part of the process and are warmly welcomed up to thirty days before your wedding. Larger structural changes after that point are accommodated when possible, with any cost difference quoted in advance.

Meet Your Baker
Hi, I'm Alexandria.
I started Finespun more than a decade ago with one quiet belief: that a wedding cake should feel like it belongs only at your wedding. Not pulled from a portfolio. Not a copy of someone else’s design. Something built around your day, your florals, and the people sitting at your tables.
I’m a sugar flower artist by training (I studied at Le Cordon Bleu and trained under Ron Ben-Israel in New York), and I’ve been honoured to have my work featured in Style Me Pretty, Weddingbells, Junebug Weddings, and on Breakfast Television. But what I love most about this work, still, is the morning of a wedding, finishing a cake in your venue while the room is being set, and knowing it’s going to be exactly right.
When you book a cake with Finespun, you’re working with me, personally, from the first email to the final delivery. I’ll be the one who answers your questions, designs your cake, and brings it to your venue. No team handoffs, no surprises. Just careful, considered work, made with love, for you.
